For many people, a heat pump installation is an ideal addition to an existing heating and cooling system. Rather than generating heat, heat pumps use the energy in the air to heat or cool your house. This means they are far more efficient than most furnaces, boilers and air conditioners. Because they don’t generate heat, they’re only effective at keeping your house warm up to about -5 degrees (Celcius). Because they are highly energy-efficient, heat pumps are becoming a popular secondary heating and cooling choice in Ontario. Heat pumps can work with almost any type of heating or cooling system. They can be connected to an existing duct and central heating system or work with radiant or electric systems as an independent ductless addition.
